Job Description
Our client is based in the heart or the jewellery quarter and has been established for some 130 years. We are now looking for a maintenance engineer to join the team.
Key skills are as follows:
Develop a robust PM program to support all equipment on site to ensure regular service is carried out, down time is reduced, preventative measures are in place and audited on a regular basis to support all machines running to maximum capacity.
Support breakdowns with immediate repair or work with and control contractors to ensure equipment is back in production asap
Review breakdowns and confirm cause of issues and corrective action needed to prevent repeat issues.
Ensure routine service is completed and any actions highlighted are discussed and reviewed with Works Manager to ensure solutions are in place to prevent break downs.
Ensure all robots and PCs have back up in place in case of electrical surge, power loss, PC damage to reduce down time, backs up in place to get machines running in production as soon as possible.
Review and challenge external costs to ensure we are getting Value for money when 3rd party service and contractors are used.
Manage and control budget spend monthly to ensure we are always in budget and drive savings where possible.
Ensure air leaks are identified and fixed to reduce down time and loss of air.
Support business cost down opportunities with changes across site, reducing energy costs, lighting, heating, air leaks and safety with future opportunities confirmed, planned, budgeted and payback approved by Site Operations Director.
Support basic electrical repairs as needed and call on contractors as required to support business needs.
Service call support when above Supporting your direct Management teams with set KPIs to support the business goals and support the Works Manager to drive efficiency savings across the business with coil size review, material batch qty and most cost-effective way to produce parts, Target KPI on coil size, material batch size to support minimal setting – change over time.
Support site repairs where possible and general site maintenance including car parks and grounds around the building. {Contractor support as required}.
Attend weekly reviews with site teams to discuss any changes, maintenance plans and programs to plan for machines to be maintained alongside production runs. Agree time needed and hand over process.
Support movement of machines and equipment across site as needed with business development.
Develop buy off process to support machine moves and new equipment to ensure sign off completed and ready for production.
Always following Health and Safety requirements when working at height, dealing with Gas, Electric and machines across site.
