Our client is a well established manufacturing business based in Hockley, Birmingham. They have an enviable reputation and are now in their 128th year!
Due to a pending retirement we are now recruiting for an experienced quality engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be hands on and will have previous experience in a press/fabrication shop.
The nature of the business is high quality metalwork. There are several departments that include:
Presswork
Fabrications
CNC Machining
Surface Grinding
Welding.

Skills :
ISO9001 Internal Auditor Qualified
Read Engineering Drawings
Understands the symbols used on drawings (i.e. welding symbols)
Understand Geometric Tolerancing on Engineering Drawings.
Use of Vernier Caliper
Use of Micrometer
Care and use of Surface plate and accessories
Use of Height Gauge
Use of Precision bore gauges
Operate Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (QCT Software desirable)
Must be able to use CMM
Statistical Process Control (SPC) Able to read and complete charting
General administration. (Record Keeping and Filing)
Computer Literate
Able to use Microsoft Office.
(Templates provided need to edit and file properly)
Inspection experience working in a press / fabrication shop.
At least one year working in an active engineering inspection role addressing 8D reporting.
