Job Description
Assisting the Operations Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of a medium paced moving environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of people within the Operations department to ensure the companies targets and objectives are met to meet our customer requirements. To ensure that staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures in line with our ISO requirements 9001/14001/50001.
Actively involve all staff within the operations department in continuous improvement activities and strive for best in class in all areas of the operation
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the operations meet the KPIs set by the CIM.
Ensure orders are processed efficiently and the delivery of customer orders meets the required delivery timescales
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
Ensure that staff 1-2-1 reviews are conducted in line with the 1-2-1 plan and training plans are in place to meet staff development needs in line with the business requirements
Ensure that the set QC standards within operations are adhered to by daily monitoring of KPIs within the WMS
Identify errors and eliminate root cause by using robust countermeasures agreed with the Operations and CIM
Control of FLT management to ensure full operational capacity to achieve daily targets
Facilitate start of shift team briefs with the team leaders and operations staff
Responsible for reporting faulty equipment to the Operations manager
Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals
Instill a 5S culture within all areas of the business and train staff where required.
Job Requirements:
A good working knowledge of warehouse and operations in a distribution facility
Understanding and use of problem-solving tools is essential
The ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external customers including the wider group of UNI distributors and partners.
SAP / WMS knowledge is desirable
An understanding of Retail store supply chain systems
An eye for detail, a structured approach to planning and a determination to achieve high standards of quality
Excellent written, telephone and wider verbal communications skills.
The ability to work under pressure and use own initiative when required

A forklift truck driver licence would be desirable but not essential
