Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for customer quality, technical investigations and continual improvement activities.
The successful candidate will lead customer complaint investigations, produce robust customer-facing 8D reports and work closely with production to identify Root Cause and permanently eliminate recurring issues.
The Quality Engineer supports the Quality Manager in maintaining the Quality Management System
Key Responsibilities
Lead customer complaint investigations.
Produce robust customer-facing 8D reports.
Conduct structured Root Cause Analysis using recognised methodologies.
Implement and verify corrective actions.
Support PPAP and APQP activities.
Maintain FMEAs and Control Plans.
Analyse production quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
Work closely with Production and Technical teams to improve process capability.
Support customer visits and technical discussions.
Raise and investigate internal non-conformances.
Assist with internal audits.
Support continuous improvement projects across the business.
Provide technical support to the Quality Manager when required.
Essential Experience
Automotive manufacturing experience.
Experience working within an IATF 16949 environment.
Customer quality experience.
Experience producing customer 8D reports.
Strong Root Cause Analysis skills.
Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC and MSA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly Desirable

Metal finishing
Fastener manufacturing
Precision engineering
Knowledge of:

·Hardness testing
·Automotive coating specifications
