Job Description

Our client is in search of a highly experienced Maintenance Manager with a number of years of relevant experience, including successful management of engineering teams. This individual should hold qualifications such as City and Guilds Level 4 or an HND/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably in a related discipline. The chosen candidate will lead our team of multi-skilled engineers and contractors in the repair and maintenance of diverse metal finishing plants. You will play a pivotal role in minimizing production downtime due to engineering faults, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities on a 24-hour basis. This position presents an opportunity to enhance plant productivity, efficiency, and safety.

You will be a hands on leader and will set the example by actively engaging in maintenance tasks alongside your team.

Responsibilities:
You will lead and supervise a team of our own multi-skilled engineers and external contractors, focusing their efforts towards the efficient repair and maintenance of metal finishing plants.
Communicate opportunities for improving plant productivity and efficiency that you have identified, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Strategically plan and allocate resources to projects, ensuring project progress aligns with production operations and output targets.
Manage the availability of materials for maintenance activities and planned projects, minimizing resource misuse.
Utilize and manage the company''s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system in compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
Ensure all engineering-related plant and equipment adhere to safety standards and are properly maintained through the Company''s planned preventative maintenance program.
Monitor and control expenditures within the monthly budget, coordinating any budget overspends with the site General Manager.
Provide weekly downtime reports to the General Manager, detailing the previous week''s operational disruptions.
Generate a monthly engineering report presenting comparisons of unplanned downtime against targets, an overview of monthly spending performance, and company energy consumption data.
Occasionally work outside of regular hours, including weekends, to address urgent maintenance needs.
Uphold the Company''s Health and Safety policy, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all applicable health and safety regulations.

Skills :

City and Guilds Level 4 or an HND/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably in a related discipline Strong People Manager IATF 16949 ISO 14001
