Our client based close to Birmingham City Centre are metal pressings and fabrication specialists. With over a century of experience in their field, they can provide a complete metalwork service.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join the team. Reporting into the QHSE manager the detail of the role is as follows:
Ensure Management system is supported across site to ensure we develop and maintain accreditation to ISO9001, duties for this include:
Dimensional testing of Parts from production – 1st Off / last off.
Carrying out material and measurement tests as per Sample Request Forms.
Carry out product audit (material and dimensional) in accordance with quality requirement, as per the annual product audit schedule.
Conduct 8D’s through to completion as part of Quality team activity.
Carry out operator training in relation to quality aspects.
Management of all Master, production, customer reference, OK/NOK samples.
Continually up-date master control plans on products.
Master of Document Control.
Drive and Support H&S activities (ISO45001)
Support the Works Manager to drive QHSE KPI’s across site.
Monitor and evaluate safe working practices.
Conduct risk assessments to minimise/eliminate accidents.
Ensure compliance to HSE regulations.
IOSH accreditation desirable.
Skills :
Product quality assurance knowledge with a technical focus or time served in a comparable just-in-time production role.
City and Guild Level 2 in Dimensional Metrology (Desirable).
ISO9001/ISO14001 Internal Auditor training. (Desirable).
Min 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineering role required.
Min grades Maths and English of GCSE 6 / CSE C
Understanding of 5s Process {Desirable}
IOSH qualification required
