Job Description
My client is the UKs largest open access, fibre only operator, with services live in cities, towns and villages across the country. But its their investment in quality and our commitment to getting it right first time, making them the first choice for many residential, business, mobile and public sector sites nationwide.
As their business continues to grow they are now looking for a Field based 3rd Line Engineer to complete a 3 month contract, travelling across to their offices across the UK, of which they have 65 in total so there will be extensive travelling involved. You will also be provided with a company van, fuel and all expenses paid.
The position will involve providing 3rd line support to the technical teams on a range of IT related technical queries, working efficiently to resolve these issues and incidents.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Installing, maintaining, and managing the local office network equipment across our offices
Resolving issues escalated by the 2nd line team from ongoing incidents or logs
Setting up the monitoring of key systems as they deploy, through alerts to the service desk
Configuring and deploying routers and networking equipment at new and existing sites
. You will need excellent knowledge of cabling, networking, routing, VPN tunnelling, switch installation,
configuration, monitoring and support.
. It is essential that you have excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Whilst it is beneficial that you have experience as a 3rd line support engineer, it is not essential you will be trained in various areas
of the role.
