Our Birmingham based client is currently recruiting for a temporary Power Press Setter and Operator.
This role is temporary, but could potentially turn into a long term, possibly permanent role after review.
our central Birmingham based client produces high quality parts and accessories for a range of clients across the retail and renovation sector. Working to an exact and very high standard, they require a candidate who can match their expectations in quality.
Purpose of the Role
Set up and operate hot stamping and power press machines safely and effectively to produce quality components. Use your knowledge of machine settings, tooling, and production processes to meet quality and productivity standards while maintaining a safe working environment.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 0700-1530
Friday 0700-1200
£14.50 - £16.00phr dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate hot stamp and power press machines.
• Change and adjust tools, dies and fixtures correctly.
• Check product quality and reduce waste/scrap.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Carry out basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures, risk controls, and housekeeping standards.
Knowledge & Safety Requirements Essential Knowledge
• Understanding of hot stamping and power press operations.
• Knowledge of tooling, die setting and machine adjustments.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and quality standards.
• Understanding of product inspection and defect identification.
Essential Safety
• Strong knowledge of safe working practices for power presses and hot stamping equipment.
• Understanding of machine guarding, emergency stops and lock-off procedures.
• Ability to identify hazards and report safety concerns.
• Commitment to always following health and safety procedures.
Desirable
• Power Press Safety certification.
• Experience with tool and die setting.
• Knowledge of preventative machine maintenance.
